This is a journal entry I found today, while going through old notebooks, looking for blank pages. It’s dated 9/16/05, which is two months before I traveled to Washington, and almost two months before I ever met the womyn who brought me to Washington. I was reading Annie Dillard’s Holy the Firm at the time.

The beginning of a new week of Finding Water is here and, in fact, almost over. First, I should check in with my Artist’s Date. I did go for a walk, but it didn’t end up being alone, so I’ve not much to say about that.
For my date, I went to the conservatory because I [...]

Coming Soon:
*Photos and stories from my first Artist’s Date
*Responses to the first dowsing rod, about deferred dreams.
Spring has truly arrived in the Mad City. There are finally more puddles than stretches of black ice, and people are wandering around in shirt sleeves and lightweight jackets. The sun is bright against a hazy blue sky, and [...]
The Beginning

Today is the beginning, the first day of Finding Water. How appropriate it is that we have begun at New Moon, how last night was Dark Night, and all things begin here.

It the anniversary of the bombing of Dresden today, which I learned from the daily Writer’s Almanac in my inbox.
Yesterday, an 18-year-old man entered a shopping mall in Salt Lake and killed 5 people.
This morning, I was so tired it hurt to lift my head from the pillow. I am yawning, rubbing my eyes, and [...]

A week. But there still isn’t a consistent internet connection at home, and I’m working five days a week.
But I get to do Finding Water, and I’m SO excited about it! Hooray!
And I’ll tell you a little secret:
I got up and wrote three quasi-morning pages this morning.
And then I climbed back into bed and got [...]

The last box and furniture was moved into the apartment just after 3pm this afternoon. Raven took me to Flat Top Grill to celebrate the end of the moving.
This evening we hooked my stereo and laptop up to the television in order to watch DVDs while at home, at least until we get a DVD [...]
